I haven't posted in a little while but sometimes I hear things on the news that set me off.
Today I heard that a lady in California pulled her friend out of a car after an accident. Now the Supreme court in CA says the woman can sue her for it. Makes me wonder if anyone will be able to help another without getting sued for doing it. Lawyers are making it impossible to be a good person.
So what we are getting is a society where you can't help people. The Government wants to take what you earn and give it to people who did not earn it. There is a small group who seem to have enough influence to get God taken out of everything, I can't understand how a minority can dictate to the majority. Then there is all the stuff about prop 8. I have no problem with an individuals personal preferences but I do have a problem with being called some of the names if I chose another view. Agree or disagree, fine, I believe I have a right to my opinion just like the other side does. I have seen so much on the news, Gay protests, they call us hate mongers as well as things that are even worse, I've seen them attack an elderly woman, knocking the cross out of her hand. Seems to me they are more like hate mongers.

Sarah Palin

I have been watching the news lately and a couple of items caught my attention.
Even though the election is over. A few of the commentators or their guests have started really dumping on Sarah Palin again. I remember when John McCain first picked her they came up with anything they could think of to try and destroy her. The reason: As far as I can see it was very simply that they were afraid and were determined to not let her get any favorable press and try to make her look bad.
Now they are at it again. If she was everything they try to make us believe why bother? Seems to me they are already getting scared. Basically I usually figure when "the left" is out to destroy someone that person must have something to say the left is trying to keep you from hearing.

More on Joe the plumber

Last night I was looking around and found Joe the plumbers website. You have to subscribe and it isn't complete yet and the site advertises a book. I looked at some other blogs and the left wingers are going nuts saying every bad thing they can think of about him and saying very nasty things about anyone who doesn't agree with them.
I tried to post some thoughts but without being a member of the site I was on they wouldn't accept a post. Not a problem here as I set it so you could post.
At any rate my comments were that if Joe the plumber has a chance to make money from what happened why not? He asked a question when Obama went on his street. He was then subjected to all kinds of attacks from the Obama camp, Joe Biden and many in the media. I say freedom of speech is for all of us, not just the ones on the left. The Constitution gives all of us that right. They were also going on about him starting a watchdog site. I think we should all be watchdogs. Given the events of the past couple of years especially it's every citizens right and obligation to keep an eye on the polititions and vote accordingly. It is becoming painfully evident that they are not capable of controlling themselves.

National Safety Concern

I've had concerns for a couple of years now but just this week I heard something on the news about a threat from Bin Laden that would make 911 look small. I never heard it again so I have no details. When I remember back to Joe Biden saying Obama would be tested within 6 months. I started thinking about it. First I think there are people that would try to do us harm given the chance, I also believe we have kept many of those people busy on their turf so they haven't been able to attack us here. Second if Defense funding is reduced as Barny Franks suggested we will not be in a position to respond the way we should. Add to that if we pull out of Iraq before the job is done the Extremists feel like they have won and get even bolder and more determined. Third, I have this nagging feeling that if some of the first two things happen some of our soldiers will not reinlist (I don't blame them) and there may be a big drop in enlistments in the armed services. Call me paranoid but I can see the draft being reinstated which I'm afraid will mean the quality of the soldiers won't be as good. I hope I'm wrong.

Election Over

Well the election is over. It didn't turn out the way I would have preferred but I guess we all have to play the hand we are dealt.
What I intend to do now is keep up on how the Congress and Senate vote on things. I would suggest everyone do that. I intend to email and call when I want them to know how I prefer they vote and if they don't I'll vote for who ever is running against them when it comes time to vote again.
I spent many years complaining about politicians but didn't stay informed so I blame myself and everyone else who didn't vote for anyone based on their performance. I don't care which party they belong to, The People (that is all of us) have an obligation to make sure the Politicians are doing the right thing. Bottom line is that I don't trust any of them and with what has happened recently I think they need oversight because they will do what is best for them rather than what is best for the Country.

Nasty comments

I was reading some blogs last night and noticed that when anyone posts in support of McCain there are several nasty posts almost immediately from Obama supporters. Of course there will be answers from McCain supporters but the really nasty ones I saw were mostly from the Obama supporters. My question here is why be so nasty? People disagree! It gives the impression to me that they don't want anyone else to have a voice and the intention is to try and bully people into not expressing their opinion.

Polls

The stock market went up today and I heard McCain is gaining. I thought it was interesting. Like I said before Obama speaks well but he never says anything other than to repeat his catch phrases.
