I have been watching and what I've noticed is so far every time President Obama talks about the Stimulus or the BailOuts the stock market drops. That tells me that maybe it isn't a real good idea to be spending all this money.
The idea should be job creation and that is done by making it viable for companies to do business. Lower taxes would be a good start. As far as the Auto companies go: Limit the Union involvement unless and until they have as much invested and stand to lose or survive the same as the workers. That way they will work for the good of everyone.

So called stimulus package

Seems that the people didn't have much say in the so called stimulus package. I only know first hand about my state. I called my Senators and Congressman for my district and the numbers were over 85% against it. I can only assume that was the result in most states.
I'm afraid of what the end result of that bill might be. For that reason I want to encourage everyone to keep after their Representatives, let them know how you want them to vote and hold them accountable. The problem with the Folks in Washington is they seem to lose interest in what the people want once they get elected and the only weapon we have is our vote so I say use it. It will take some time but I realize now that if we don't take a stand and vote for people who will do the will of the people we will keep getting sold down the river. I hope enough people are as tired of politics as usual as I am. We do hold their fate in our hands, it's time the people used it.

I was watching The Huckabee show on Fox tonight and he was reading off the whitehouse website. The items he was reading concerned me so I went and read it. If you want to check it for yourself go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/agenda/civil_rights/ you have to read it carefully because the way it's worded it sounds good but the way I read it we will lose some of our rights. I prefer to keep what rights I have left.
I intend to email my representative and let them know my thoughts on anything that is coming up for a vote nand if they aren't voting the way the majority of the people direct them to I say don't vote for them when their term is up. Take for an example the Sec. Treasury, a tax problem should be enought to keep him from getting confirmed, there are other problems but the one should be enough.

Random thoughts

I haven't posted in a little while but sometimes I hear things on the news that set me off.
Today I heard that a lady in California pulled her friend out of a car after an accident. Now the Supreme court in CA says the woman can sue her for it. Makes me wonder if anyone will be able to help another without getting sued for doing it. Lawyers are making it impossible to be a good person.
So what we are getting is a society where you can't help people. The Government wants to take what you earn and give it to people who did not earn it. There is a small group who seem to have enough influence to get God taken out of everything, I can't understand how a minority can dictate to the majority. Then there is all the stuff about prop 8. I have no problem with an individuals personal preferences but I do have a problem with being called some of the names if I chose another view. Agree or disagree, fine, I believe I have a right to my opinion just like the other side does. I have seen so much on the news, Gay protests, they call us hate mongers as well as things that are even worse, I've seen them attack an elderly woman, knocking the cross out of her hand. Seems to me they are more like hate mongers.

Sarah Palin

I have been watching the news lately and a couple of items caught my attention.
Even though the election is over. A few of the commentators or their guests have started really dumping on Sarah Palin again. I remember when John McCain first picked her they came up with anything they could think of to try and destroy her. The reason: As far as I can see it was very simply that they were afraid and were determined to not let her get any favorable press and try to make her look bad.
Now they are at it again. If she was everything they try to make us believe why bother? Seems to me they are already getting scared. Basically I usually figure when "the left" is out to destroy someone that person must have something to say the left is trying to keep you from hearing.

More on Joe the plumber

Last night I was looking around and found Joe the plumbers website. You have to subscribe and it isn't complete yet and the site advertises a book. I looked at some other blogs and the left wingers are going nuts saying every bad thing they can think of about him and saying very nasty things about anyone who doesn't agree with them.
I tried to post some thoughts but without being a member of the site I was on they wouldn't accept a post. Not a problem here as I set it so you could post.
At any rate my comments were that if Joe the plumber has a chance to make money from what happened why not? He asked a question when Obama went on his street. He was then subjected to all kinds of attacks from the Obama camp, Joe Biden and many in the media. I say freedom of speech is for all of us, not just the ones on the left. The Constitution gives all of us that right. They were also going on about him starting a watchdog site. I think we should all be watchdogs. Given the events of the past couple of years especially it's every citizens right and obligation to keep an eye on the polititions and vote accordingly. It is becoming painfully evident that they are not capable of controlling themselves.

National Safety Concern

I've had concerns for a couple of years now but just this week I heard something on the news about a threat from Bin Laden that would make 911 look small. I never heard it again so I have no details. When I remember back to Joe Biden saying Obama would be tested within 6 months. I started thinking about it. First I think there are people that would try to do us harm given the chance, I also believe we have kept many of those people busy on their turf so they haven't been able to attack us here. Second if Defense funding is reduced as Barny Franks suggested we will not be in a position to respond the way we should. Add to that if we pull out of Iraq before the job is done the Extremists feel like they have won and get even bolder and more determined. Third, I have this nagging feeling that if some of the first two things happen some of our soldiers will not reinlist (I don't blame them) and there may be a big drop in enlistments in the armed services. Call me paranoid but I can see the draft being reinstated which I'm afraid will mean the quality of the soldiers won't be as good. I hope I'm wrong.
